Obviously there is something better for me elsewhere. Maybe here, maybe around the corner, or maybe in some far off land...

A lyric from my favorite song goes "You live and learn, me, well I learned to let go, parents and bosses and people who don't want you to grow, I think that anything you want to you can do..."

It's by a band called Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, from a song called "4th of July" I remember the first time I heard that particular lyric, I was facing difficulty with school. I have always been a dreamer, in fact it's probably my worst characteristic. I dream big, about things that are far away, and often, I miss the present.

But today, I am in my moment, letting go of the things that have happened in the past six months or so. I don't have the time (or energy) to hate anyone, or to think badly about people, and I most certainly do not have the time to stand around waiting on friendships that are defective, and useless. I have been examining the relationships in my life, work and otherwise, and I have found that only half of them are sustainable and healthy.

What happened to me at my last job are unfair to say the least, but for me to dwell on them is only going to keep me from following this new opportunity. Keep me from growing. So I have to say goodbye to those dreams. Good bye, and good riddance. Obviously there is something better for me elsewhere. Maybe here, maybe in some far off land, just maybe around the corner. But, the truth is, as long as I hold on to the old dreams, I can't have the new ones either.
